My fellow Diners! Hungry again? Have you tried the dishes from Chapter 1?
Tonight I happen to eat something which is rather nice that I would like to share it with you.
It's called the "Portuguese Egg Tart". It's not like your normal everyday egg tart, it's Portuguese!! (huh??) but made in Brunei...
The crust is similar to that of a croissant, not too dry, yet not too soft, retaining the chewy texture and the crispiness. How about the custard? This is their selling point. Smooth creamy cheese blended with flavourful egg custard and finished off with a topping of cheese and melted butter and yolks.
Together, the combination is just wonderful... as you bite through it, the chewy texture of the crust just complements the gentle and smooth cheese custard.
Where can you find this gentle egg general? Top Bake, at 70cents each and if you buy after 7pm, its BUY 1 FREE 1 (For those that can't count, 35cents each)... This bakery store is just located behind Hua Ho Serusop.
So go and lick those eggs!
